Child safety standards

STACKIT is a place where strangers meet to play together, and that is exactly the kind of place that has to say out loud where its line is. This page is that line. It covers child sexual abuse and exploitation — CSAE — and it applies to everybody on STACKIT without exception.

Who STACKIT is for

STACKIT is for adults. It is rated for users aged 18 and over, and accounts are not knowingly created for anyone under 13 under any circumstances. If a child under 13 is found with an account, it is removed. If we learn that anyone under 18 is using STACKIT, the account is closed.

What is never allowed

All of the following are prohibited outright. There is no warning step and no second chance for any of them.

Child sexual abuse material, in any form, shared anywhere on STACKIT — a profile picture, a chat message, a display name, a gamer tag, or spoken in a voice room.
Sexualising a minor in any way, including in text, in images, and in speech.
Grooming, or any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
Soliciting, offering, or trading sexual content involving a minor.
Sextortion — threatening to share intimate material in order to obtain more of it, money, or anything else.
Trafficking of a minor, or any attempt to arrange one.
Using STACKIT to move a conversation with a minor to another service for any of the above.

How to report it

Every profile in STACKIT can be reported from inside the app. Open the player's card, choose Report, and pick Child safety concern — a reason that exists on its own rather than being folded into harassment, because it is not the same thing and does not wait in the same queue. The report carries the recent conversation with it so there is evidence attached, and it is not visible to the person you reported.

You can also block anyone from the same card. Blocking is immediate and total in both directions.

What happens after a report

Reports naming a child safety concern go to the front of the moderation queue and are read ahead of everything else.
The account is suspended while it is looked at, rather than after.
Confirmed CSAE means a permanent ban of the account and of the person behind it, and removal of the content.
Apparent CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and to the relevant national authority where the law requires it.
Records connected to a CSAE report are kept after the account is gone, because otherwise a ban is undone by signing up again.

Voice rooms

Squad voice runs directly between the phones in a room and is never recorded, so there is no recording of a voice room to hand to anybody — including us. That is deliberate and it is described in the privacy policy. It does not put voice out of reach of these standards: a person can be reported for what they said in a room, the report reaches a human, and an account can be banned on it.

Compliance

STACKIT complies with applicable child safety laws in the places it operates, and reports to regional and national authorities where those laws require it. These standards are reviewed whenever the app changes in a way that affects them.
