Terms of service

Effective 31 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Iam The Protagonist Ltd, trading as LOBBYIT and The It Group ("we", "us"). We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 16842280, registered office 60 Hay Lane, London, NW9 0NB. Email theitgroupapps@gmail.com.

By creating an account, downloading or using LOBBYIT (the "app") you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. What LOBBYIT does

LOBBYIT finds you people to play with. You say which game you're on, at what rank and in which region, and it fills the empty seats from the players who are online and looking for the same thing. Once a squad is full you get a room with chat, the tags you need to add each other in-game, and the option of voice.

2. Who can use it

• You must be at least 13 years old. If the place you live sets a higher age for agreeing to something like this on your own, you need to be that age instead, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
• You must give true information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Not because anybody is checking your paperwork, but because the whole app runs on other players being able to trust that the rank and the tag on your card are yours.
• One account per person. You are responsible for everything done through your account, and for keeping your sign-in details private. Tell us straight away at theitgroupapps@gmail.com if you think someone else has used it.
• You may not use the app if we have previously closed an account of yours for breaking these terms.

3. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, or use it to build a competing product. Everything in the app that isn't yours — the design, the code, the name, the logos — belongs to us or our licensors.

4. Pro, and how the money works

Every game in the catalogue is free to everybody. Pro adds capacity rather than content: running up to four searches at once, and priority when a seat opens.

• Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in pounds sterling for UK customers, including VAT where it applies.
• Purchases are made through the app store on your device and billed by that store. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, in your device's subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your LOBBYIT account.
• Refunds for store purchases are handled by the store under its own rules. We can't issue them directly; ask the store you bought from. LOBBYIT never handles the money and cannot take a payment or issue a refund itself.
• Your right to change your mind. If you are a consumer in the UK you have 14 days from purchase to cancel a digital subscription under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By starting the service immediately you agree we may begin before that period ends, and that you lose the right to cancel once the content or service has been fully delivered. Where part of it has been delivered you may be charged for that part.
• If we change a price, we tell you first and the new price applies from your next renewal. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

5. Your content and how people treat each other

LOBBYIT exists to put strangers in a squad together, which only works if it is bearable to be in one.

• Anything you post, upload or send through the app stays yours. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, copy and transmit it so the app can work, and to show it to the people you've chosen to share it with. We don't sell your content and nothing you post is used to advertise anything.
• You promise your content is yours to share, doesn't break the law, and doesn't infringe anyone's rights or privacy.
• Zero tolerance. No abuse, harassment, hate, threats, sexual content involving anyone under 18, impersonation, spam, scams, or anything illegal. No attacking anyone over race, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality. No sharing anyone's private information, including your squadmates'. No selling, buying or trading accounts, and no advertising boosting or cheating. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts without notice for any of this.
• Report and block. Every profile and every message can be reported from inside the app, and you can block anyone. We act on reports within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these rules.
• We may moderate, but we don't pre-screen everything and we aren't responsible for what other users post.

6. Voice

Squad voice is carried directly between the phones in the room and is never recorded, which means nobody can go back and check what was said. Behave in it as you would in chat. If someone is abusive in voice, report them — reports are read, and a pattern is visible even when a single moment is not.

7. Meeting people you do not know

LOBBYIT introduces you to strangers. It checks nobody's identity and vouches for nobody. Use the same judgement you would anywhere online: don't hand out personal details, don't take a squadmate's word for anything that matters, and don't send anyone money or accounts. Blocking someone stops them reaching you. We are not responsible for what happens between users, in the app or anywhere they take it.

8. Reputation, reports and bans

Players rate each other after a run and can report or block each other. Those ratings shape who gets put in front of whom, which is the point of them.

An account can be suspended or removed for anything on this page, and for anything else that makes the app materially worse for the people in it. Serious cases happen immediately; otherwise there is normally a warning first. If you think a suspension is wrong, write to the address at the bottom — appeals are read and a mistake will be undone.

9. Acceptable use

Don't: break the law; interfere with the app or anyone else's use of it; probe or overload our systems; scrape or harvest data; use bots; bypass any security or payment; or use the app for anything it isn't for. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

10. LOBBYIT is not the games

LOBBYIT is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any game publisher, console maker or gaming platform. Game names, modes and ranks appear only so players can say what they are on for. Your account on any of those services is governed by that service's own rules, not by these.

11. Third-party services

The app uses services we don't control: Apple and Google for sign-in, push notifications and billing; Discord for linking your server; Supabase for the database, files and email; Sentry for crash reports; Vercel for this website. Each has its own terms, and we aren't responsible for them. Links out of the app go to sites we don't run.

12. Availability and changes

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, pause or withdraw any feature. It cannot promise that a squad will fill, or that voice will connect on every network. If we withdraw the app entirely we'll give reasonable notice, and no attempt will be made to keep charging for something that no longer exists.

13. Our liability — read this one

• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else UK law doesn't let us limit.
• If you are a consumer, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses — the app is for personal use unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
• Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of £100 and what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
• Your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

14. Ending things

• You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from the YOU tab inside the app, or by emailing us. Deleting it removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not cancel Pro — cancel that in your device's subscription settings, or it keeps renewing.
• We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we withdraw the app. Where fair, we'll tell you why.
• Sections that by their nature should survive — content licences for things already shared, liability, governing law — keep applying after your account closes.

15. Apple and Google

If you downloaded the app from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to support or maintain the app; if the app fails to meet a warranty you may tell Apple, who may refund the price you paid, and beyond that Apple has no warranty obligation; Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the app or your use of it; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo and aren't on any US government list of prohibited parties. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google's own terms also apply to the download and to anything you buy through Google.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and for anything that materially affects you we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using the app after that date means you accept the new terms; if you don't, stop using the app and, for a paid subscription, cancel it.

17. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there, and nothing here takes away protections you have under the law of where you live. If you have a complaint, email theitgroupapps@gmail.com first and we'll try to sort it out within 14 days. UK consumers can also use the online dispute resolution options the Citizens Advice consumer service points to.

18. Everything else

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the app. If any part is found unenforceable the rest still applies. We may transfer our rights under these terms to another company in a sale or reorganisation; you may not transfer yours. Not enforcing a term once doesn't mean we've given it up.

19. Copyright complaints

We have a designated agent for copyright complaints, registered with the US Copyright Office:

Reporting something. If you think content in LOBBYIT infringes your copyright, send our agent a notice that includes: your physical or electronic signature; the work you say is being infringed; where the infringing material is in the app (a callsign, lobby, squad or chat is enough to find it); your name, address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.

If your content was taken down by mistake. You can send a counter-notice to the same agent explaining why you believe it was removed in error.

Repeat infringers. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe other people's copyright.
